Title: Timing chain replacement Post by thomas on Apr 13th, 2005, 8:55pm Am using info on post 95 24v cosworth to replace timing chain on 93 version, the one with the single long duplex chain and single RHS tensioner.Have dropped sump and removed all timing case bolts, but timing case being obstinate to come off. Are there any other bolts not shown in later version manual or is it just the sealant to the heads and block thats keeping it on. If anybody has any ideas i would be grateful. Regards Mike Thomas. |

Title: Re: Timing chain replacement Post by thomas on Apr 15th, 2005, 1:27pm Deep joy with timing cover, if anybody else is daft enough to attempt on the drive, there are two extra tortex bolts inside the head shrouds that are covered in crap. They are not shown in the later version manual.Rebuild now going forward, but some parts awaited from Germany. Mike thomas. |

Title: Re: Timing chain replacement Post by martin_rowe on Apr 15th, 2005, 1:27pm ok how about the ones in the heads between the sprockets, you do have the sump off, the cover has two dowels on to one of the heads, I think its the pass side one, release it from the block then down and out. Martin |
