Hi John and no ..I wouldn't think that your problem is related to low or flat battery reset ..try checking the crank position sensor wiring after the rewire ..were the correct plugs used to rewire or just terminals that were handy ? .. keep us informed please ... after crank sensor you should be checking at the engine loom connector to injectors etc for signals in that area ....regards ....STN
ps.. obviously make sure the PATS light isn't flashing a code ....

John, Are you sure all the wires are re-connected to the battery? There was a post recently where it was stated that a black(earth?) wire could fall down behind the battery and  be missed thus causing problems. I'm sure somone will recall the precise post . HTH. Simmo

Hi, yes proper terminals were used. wiring rewire is being done by autobox engineer, he wondered if immobiliser would cause problem after battery being disconnected for so long. by the way whats the PATS stand for?   Will also check black (earth) wire. many thanks lads.

Pats is the Passive Anti Theft System. If you go to the front page(Click on Ford Scorpio Logo at top of page) scroll down to 'Search' and enter PATS, All the info you want will be revealed. HTH ,Simmo
