Title: Cooling system question Post by Mike_Floutier on May 7th, 2005, 2:57pm Hi, I think that I'm getting some overflow from my coolant tank through the pressure release valve in the cap. It seems to be happening in traffic in London when it's hot. (nb I've fitted one of the new caps). Question is, will it make a difference if I don't keep it topped up so high (ie right up to the max mark)? After all, when it loses the water it only does it until it's about half way between the max and the min marks. Thanks Mike |

Title: Re: Cooling system question Post by craig on May 7th, 2005, 3:26pm mike.... i am led to believe that on some cars, the water will always "find it's own level",hence if you keep topping up to the maximum, some will obviously be expelled,as long as the car is not losing coolant, and remains between the min and the max,i reckon you'll be alright....... if topping up on a regular basis though, this should be investigated.. |
