Post by djmutters69 on May 28th, 2005, 11:44am
Hiya guys

I have just found out that Ford Scorpios and large oak trees don't get on well when reversing into one  ???

However I have now received my new bumper via Ebay and are considering fitting it myself(with help from a friend) and I was just woundering how easy or hard this might be ? any hints or tips would be very helpfull :-*

However please no tree jokes!!!!

Hi there,
Took mine off a month ago to fit a tow bar..
Easy bit first, there are two pastic wing nut type things either side of the ends of the bumper, found underneath, just turn 90 degrees...thats the ends loose.

Now for the next should be easy, but as posted never is..there are four torx bolts if you can undo these you have cracked it just pull the bumper off..

Mine snapped my torx bit so I then sprayed WD through the chassis member hole..in fact a full can and got the local tyre fitter to use his windy gun for a couple of quid... They may have come off if I had another quality torx bit, a cheap one I tried just twisted...

Good luck

John

May be an idea to spray and leave overnight for penetrating oil to work...I have found a good quality one like wd40 seems to work better than the cheaper ones.
