Title: Locked Out Of Car with Engine Running Post by Fitzy on Jun 10th, 2005, 10:15pm Hi Guys, a strange thing happened the other day. As i prepared to go to work on Wednesday i started the car as usual, but then had to get out to get something from my bag which was on the back seat. It was about 30 seconds before i went to open the rear door, but when i tried to open it the whole car was locked. Somehow it had managed to lock itself with the keyes in the ignition and the engine was stil running. I had to wake the wife up (it was 04:30 in the morning) she wasn't too happy. and get the spare key to unlock the car. Now does anyone have any idea what could have caused this, i have tried to emulate the same scenario but it hasn't happened since. I have the global closing mod fitted, could this have causefd this to happen? I have experianced some problems with the mod previously with all the windows and sunroof opening all on their own, even though i only unlocked the car once without re-locking and unlocking ( as per the instructions for the mod to work), i am totally baffled as to what could have caused this. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fitzy ;) ;D ;) |

I would solder all connections on the mod, also put some shrink wrap around the soldered joints. The mod itself has been around for a good few years and not too many people have complained about it.
