Title: Ford Scorpio: Problems with Air Cond
Post by madkiss on Jun 17th, 2005, 7:25pm
Hi folks, it's me again ;)

This time with a new scorpio problem: Went out this morning, sat behind the stirring wheel of my scorpio, and as it was hot, I turned on the AD and ... well, nothing happened. I took the thing to the next garage, and the guy there told me that he suspectsthat the blower-motor is broken. Darn!

The guy in the garage also told me that the bracket that keeps the AD-filters was missing, and that the AD-filters had just been inserted into their slots and that's it.

My two questions are: How much does a blower-motor cost, and can I eventually get a used one for less? And what about that holder for the AD filters?

Make sure it doesnt just need a reset on the CC.

Try this first
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm

of course this does need your car to have CC rather than just AC .

Okay,

it seems that I was able to find some more information about the problem I described above. THe "filters" that I am obviously referring to are the Pollen filters as shown on http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acevaphousinglabelled.gif -- can somebody please confirm that these things are not just put into the evaporator but that they must be put into a bracket before? Or are there any other filters somewhere in the complete AC device that might need a bracket?

Okay, thanks.

Can somebody then finally confirm that changing the Heater blower works for a Ford Scorpio 2.3 Estate car from Early 1997 exactly the way it is described in http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fanrepair.htm ?

Thanks in advance.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21654&item=4557067738&tc=photo

is for a Ford Scorpio for the left side of the car from driver's point of view? I urgently need a fog lamp for the driver's site of a LHD car ...

That was the problem when the Blower motor stopped to work just some months ago, but now, it's obviously that something with the motor is just not right. No matter whether you switch it to 1, 2 or 3 -- it does not speed up. However, if it's not too warm outside, you will hear that the motor makes some strange noises. As soon as it is really warm, it stops doing that, though.
