hi all, i recently bought a 2.0 16v ultima estate automatic all seemed well at first but now my petrol consumption has shot up and ive noticed fouth gear does not engage till about 50mph, the only thing i noticed was on a recent trip to the coast the o/d off light started flashing on and off but on turning engine off and restarting this righted itself all fluid levels are fine, can anyone help please

50mph seems about right to me for changing into top gear ( 4th: overdrive).

Before you do anything else the MAF is worth cleaning for these type of problems.

Ive just cleaned mine again after a slight drop in performance. only 6 months (6000 miles) since I last did it!

Have you tried the Maf and did it help?
