Title: Electric windows Post by bertie on Aug 19th, 2005, 9:12pm My mates scorp has got me beat. drivers door switches are dead. Both front windows do not work off either front door switch, left or right. rear windows work from rear switches only. fusebox. all 30 amp fuses are fine, checked and all powered. I've replaced the drivers door module for known good one and same symptoms. according to manual, there is a relay no.30 brown R30 located in drivers door that controls overload.....I cannot find it http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/aux_relays.gif any ideas? 2.0 scorp estate, 1995 on a N ghia. simon |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by bertie on Aug 29th, 2005, 8:46pm update. I've changed the window control module in drivers door..problem still there I've changed the switchs X4 in drivers door I've checked all fuses related in fuse box, 25,26,28 and 16. All replaced with correct rating. So symptoms. Rear windows work, fronts don't. Rear only work from rear switches. NOTHING from front switches, drivers or passenger. Is there a thermal overload switch? any idea/suggestion welcome as it's got me beat. Simon |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by Snoopy on Aug 29th, 2005, 9:17pm Simon, I have had a good look through the wiring Diags and cannot fond an overload switch . Tghe only think I think it can be is the multifunction Module located in the drivers door, but others might know more than me. there use dto be an overload switch on the old grannies, have you had a look under the front foot well side panels? for the lost trip relay ;) |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by bertie on Aug 29th, 2005, 9:27pm hiya Snoopy. I've replaced the module for 2 known good ones..... I've been through the wiring diagrams and cannot see a thermal load anywhere.......BUT....the module is allowing the rear windows to operate, but not the fronts...hmmm the plot thickens simon :o |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by nic on Aug 29th, 2005, 11:18pm Si, I know you have changed most stuff, but I thought today remember when my MK2 packed up through lack of use. Are the motors fine, did you wire them direct to see if they work ok. Just a long shot I know |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by Simmo on Aug 30th, 2005, 7:39am Do they work from the key ie.global opening/closing when you lock/unlock? |

Title: Re: Electric windows Post by bertie on Aug 30th, 2005, 9:37pm reeet..... its a poverty model so no global........ all motors are fine the drivers elecric window buttons x4 are dead, even the rears. the rears work from the rear doors. getting back to the module in the drivers door, there are 2 connectors, front, rear. I have power to the rear but not the front. the next plan of attack is to take power direct to the front connector to see if it powers up. That still doesn't explain why there is no power there.......as I say, all the fuses are powered up....... ;D ;D ;D |
