Title: Changing autobox fluid Post by geraghtyg on Aug 22nd, 2005, 5:27pm Not so much a problem: more a query. Getting my oil and filter changed by a friend who is a bus mechanic. I have the gasket and the screen assembly/filter parts. However, on the site, it mentions that I need O-ring seals as well. I didn't get these from FMD. Are they a seal specific to the Scorpio? If so, does anyone know the FINIS number(s) so I can get these seals? Thanks a million in advance Graham |

Title: Re: Changing autobox fluid Post by geraghtyg on Aug 23rd, 2005, 3:47pm Sorry for bumping but thought someone would have replied by now. In the guide for changing the autobox filter it says: Quote:
I was just wondering if I can this o ring seal from Ford or is a generic type that I can pick up easily. Also, whether I'd need a FINIS code or just explain the bit I need. Strange that Ford don't supply this part when you actually need it! Cheers |

Title: Re: Changing autobox fluid Post by Partsman on Aug 23rd, 2005, 5:33pm Graham I can come up with 2 Finis codes 6152081 & 6117033. They both go on the valve body somewhere. It's only just over a qiud for the 2 so get both if you can. FMC workshop manual says remove the filter and "seals" as in more than one. It also says the same for re-assembly so there may be more than one seal. You never can tell with FMC. PS check with your FMD how many you are going to get as they only come in 5's from Daventry. They may say you have to have them all !! HTH |

Title: Re: Changing autobox fluid Post by geraghtyg on Aug 24th, 2005, 10:39am Thanks a million for that HTH Very helpful indeed. When I get to FMC dealer on Friday, I'll give them those FINIS codes and see if anything else is needed. Still think its quite strange that they would sell you the gearbox filter and stuff and not sell the seals Graham |
