just tried my key in my drivers door and it wont work, i have to use the passenger door ? plz help

Either the key is worn or the door lock is worn. Look at this http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-q=Door+lock&sp-a=sp100172f5. Have you got another key you can try to check if it is the lock or the key. HTH

yes i have all 3 keys, normal black key, light key, and red key, i will try the otheres and let you know. timbo

If the other keys don't work too well the lock will have to rebuilt. see http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld/htm for a good guide to doing the job. The part no.s are still good and price is just under £32 inc VAT. Take note of what is said about the key number and if you get it read for you make sure which end they are starting from.
Just two extra points. The odd spacer (on the right in the pic) is to put a bit of tension on the tumblers to stop them moving about and I always put this in last before the final tumbler disc. Also the lock will not work without at least one 4 disc in it so if your key number doesn't have a 4 in it there is something wrong.

PS Why no remote? I never use my key in the door locks. I don't even know if they work!! I suppose I ought to ckeck them for when my remote buttons give up as they surely will one day. Every one elses have!
