Hi all

I've had to put my scorpio up for sale and i've only had 3 calls about it - 2 blew out as i've not got the FSH (only the one done when I bought it in MAy 2004), the other one blew out as he wanted it for £1750 and said I was way overpriced. Those calls were from my ad in autotrader (have also had it on here for a cpl of weeks but not 1 call!)

I've got it up for £3250 - am i asking too much?

I paid 4k for it in May 2004, mileage is low (65000) and it's in ex condition. (2.3 s reg, leather, auto, etc etc etc).

Seeing as how it was registered very late in 1998, it's an S reg, but if it had of been registered a cpl of weeks later it would have been a T reg - out of curiosity, how many scorp's are there with a T reg?

price seems to be not too far off the mark,although some people (me included) do like to see the car has been serviced/looked after professionally (is there no way you can check with previous owners about the servicing and possibly get a print out ?),apart from that i cant see too much wrong,what colour is it ?,this might have a bearing on it,being a 2.3 is pretty much in the middle as well,time of year is not really on your side for selling,but people are always looking for nice cars,i know it's a cliche but have you consdered ebay ?....
i've seen late nice ones go on there for that money....

It's Mid-Atlantic Blue (or so i'm told). I've got a photo of on the ad - what's the protocols for posting a picture of it on here?

If you want to sell a car we have cars for sale section on the main site ..... It costs £10 and stays there as longs as you want and put a link from here buit NOT the whole car....

cookie_boy,
my scorp is same model/ colour and spec as yours, but a 98, on an "r" reg
again, no service history, and was a "cab" for 2yrs. still in good condition. 110k
i gotta put a new box in soon, and even with that done, i'd only value mine between a grand and fifteen hundred. obviously yours is newer, and much lower miles than my baby, so, i'm not trying to compare like for like, but it gives you an idea of my value, on MY car, that is similar to yours.

I think it is a little over but not too much. I paid £3,000 for my S reg 24v back in September last year and it only had 58000 on the clock with full history.

Ebay is a good medium to get rid of Scorpios. I sold my S reg Cosworth with 112000 miles on the clock and got £3000 for that but it is only worth as much as someone wants to pay. Try Ebay with a reserve of £2900 or £3000 and see how it goes
