Title: dragging sound !!! Post by ady on Sep 19th, 2005, 8:42pm hi ppl took my baby out for a spin up and back down the m5 when i used the brakes i noticed a little scrapping sound from the rear driverside brakes thought no more of it cos car has been stood up for a week (holiday) about 10 mins from my home it turned into a real bad noise only way to descrobe it is a dragging noise !!! the noise is even there when i am not using the brakes. but i would say it was coming from the rear brakes. anyone shed some light on this or is it just a case of changing the discs and/or pads ? bear in mind it makes the noise without using the brakes. thxs ady |

Title: Re: dragging sound !!! Post by Danny_R on Sep 20th, 2005, 12:51pm Ady, while your there, check your back wheel bearings for movement. The Scorpio’s seem to have silent failing wheel bearings and can give without any warning at all. I'm not saying this is your noise problem but check just to be on the safe side :) Also, if you discover you need to replace the rear pads, go and buy yourself a caliper rewind tool from halfords. About 15-20 pounds if I remember. This makes the job soooo much easier as the piston needs to be pushed and turned at the same time. Kind Regards Danny_R |
