My CD interchanger has decided to give up. The radio still works fine, but when I press the button to get the CDs going, nothing happens. ??? Now, I've got 6 CDs stuck in the machine and it won't eject.

Any suggestions? Fuses? I've checked the wiring best I can, without taking the unit out.

Hi Paul,

On the 2007 radio set up the cable to the CD has an earth that is looped back and connected to another earth in the loom - it is about 5 inches back from the CD changer - check this as it has been found to be a bad connection! (you may need to unwrap the insulation!) http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/multichanger%20connector.jpg

The CD changer has a small hole that you can insert a thin nail to manually eject the CDs - it is by the plug so you will have to take the plastic shroud off!

If it is an early model you may find the changer has a dry joint on the board, but I would check the lead first!

The 7000 has a fuse behind the radio - worth checking but I am not sure if it would stop the changer!

a favourite place to start is the wiring loom that goes into the changer,unwind the outer layer and check the earth,notorious for problems......

must of been typing the same reply at the same time dave..... ;D
