Title: Heated Seats
Post by Paulus on Oct 18th, 2005, 6:39pm
When I switch on my heated seat (driver side), the seat doesn't heat up, but the switch gets VERY hot.

Any suggestions?

Paul.

sounds like a faulty switch, have you tried another one?

Also it may be a fuse problem, if the switch is at fault and it heats it means that it does a short-ciorcuit somewhere and the fuse should stop the circuit.....

First look at the switch.

I have a similar problem. When I turn on the drivers side heater the green light illuminates on the switch but the seat doesnt warm up. (switch doesnt heat up).

Thanks

Unfortunately the heating elements in the seat  are not very robust and in older models  the driver's  seat  is usually inoperative. Apart from the usual  fuse and relay checks, replacement of the element is the only expensive option.
