Title: R207COE Post by ming on Oct 19th, 2005, 12:41pm We just had a thought that maybe this car was owned by somebody on here ...so this is the reg if anybody recognizes it. It came from away down south somewhere. The last wee niggle (husband is a virgo, mr. nit-pick)-the lights in the doors dont work when they're opened. Is there a wee switch that we havent found yet, or is it a fuse ? 8) Mary. Who isnt a virgo.... :-X |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by nuttyscorp on Oct 19th, 2005, 2:16pm if it is the facelifted model, there are no lights under the door (puddle lights). i dont know why, but ford didnt continue with them! Russ |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by Baz on Oct 19th, 2005, 6:28pm I fitted the door lights to my previous facelift Cossie but it was a awkward job. Others have done it on here with varying levels of success. Just to annoy you even more, if you do have a facelift model, you also won't have the coolant level indicator or the passenger side illuminated vanity mirror. (Both jobs are easy to fix) You will however be blessed with side airbags and a better looking back end (in my opinion of course!!) And of course there is the rarity value; of the 98000 or so Scorpios built, only about 8000 of them were facelift models which is in fact less than the number of deloreans that were built and you don't see many of them....mind you they were rubbish! Title: Re: R207COE Post by proberjohn on Oct 19th, 2005, 10:12pm Baz. How did you do the coolant level warning. I've got a facelift so have bought a scrappy expansion tank with the level switch and was looking to wire it into the low washer level circuit. John B. |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by Baz on Oct 20th, 2005, 12:21am John, it is pretty easy, I removed everthing from a scrapper. The wire goes from the level indicator to the plug on the bulkhead next to the wiper motor (yours like mine will have 3 wires (very thin ones, yellow brown, brown white etc.) and a plug blanking off the other hole. The cable for the level indicator is green/white and it terminates then on the plug on its own on the back of the clocks. On mine the contact was just connected to a shorting bar so it was just removed and redone with the green white wire. (i can't remember the contact number now but I will let you know if you wish) Because the facelift clocks do not have the LED in place for the coolant level, I just soldered one on (red) and it works a treat. I am supposed to be doing a few pages for Eric one of which is this but never got round to it yet!! Wafoo, As for side airbags, if yours is a 1997 R reg or an R reg with the chrome grille etc. it will not have side airbags. These were only fitted on builds after 11/97 |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by Wafoo on Oct 20th, 2005, 7:16am hmm,it's registered 1/98 so was proably built 97,hasn't got the chrome grill thougth perhaps i should stuff it into a hedge, see what happens?? ;D |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by Baz on Oct 20th, 2005, 9:13am Thats a strange one then because according to my sources ;) yours is a moondust silver cosworth Ultima build date is showing as 03/98 with such extras as parking sensors and side airbags (there is usually a picture or sticker on the side of each front seat showing a bloke with an airbag going off at the side of him!! Alternatively, there should be the airbag x4 picture next to the VIN number on the windscreen in front of the driver. It also shows your VIN number as: WF0FXXGAGFWS363** (I've missed the last 2 digits off!!) Baz |

Title: Re: R207COE Post by nuttyscorp on Oct 20th, 2005, 1:40pm mmm....maybe not so rare.... mine was 1st reg 3/98 dont know the build date, but it is facelifted, and its definately only got 2x airbags. Russ |
