Title: Main fusebox removal Post by Blaksox on Oct 21st, 2005, 2:37pm I am looking to remove the main fuse box. I have looked at the fusebox rebuild on the website - not too sure whether I am up to that - but I need to remove it to at least have a better chance of drying it out / fitting a new one. I have removes the lower casing below the steering column - but there is very little room in there! Is there a knack - or is it just perseverance? Any help would be welcome |

err just a little more work than that.... first you are best removing the drivers seat as you will be working in the footwell facing up inside the dashboard with your head against the pedals, then you undo 4 8mm nuts that secure the fusebox to the bulkhead from underneath the dash. you may have to pull a plastic cage away from the wiring harness connectors on the bottom of the fusebox. then using a small screwdriver, press the clip that secures each wiring plug into the base of the fusebox and pull the connector out.....it helps if you have 3 hands for this job, 1 to hold the light/torch, 1 to hold the screwdriver and of course 1 to pull the connector out. some are really tricky to access due to the tightness of the loom so be patient. when the last 1 is out, withdraw the box from the enginebar, again a tight squeeze but workable. hope this helps |
