Title: Re: Changing Battery Post by Dave on Oct 28th, 2005, 9:30am Quick question - is it the horn, or the alarm horn i.e. constant or pulsing on and off? If it is the horn for the alarm, when the battery is reconnected trying unlocking the car - even if it is unlocked already. Try from the remote, then both doors, it might stop it. Failing that the alarm horn is behind the battery with a single wire connection :) |

Title: Re: Changing Battery Post by kskjon on Oct 28th, 2005, 8:35pm My alarm does go off if I disconnect and reconnect the battery. but my scorp doesn't have, for some reason, the originally fitted alarm system. It's an aftermarket sweguard-thing. Atleast on my scorp, it works to just turn the alarm off, immediately after reconnecting the battery. I've never tried this on an original ford alarm system, though. So.. Edit: typos.. |

Title: Re: Changing Battery Post by Paul B on Oct 28th, 2005, 8:35pm Another silly thing to point out (or remind you about)... When you've connected the battery and doing the locking business, don't forget about the bonnet. That will need to be closed as well OR the button pressed down. |

Title: Re: Changing Battery Post by Octavian_P on Oct 29th, 2005, 6:23pm Hi All First sorry for a late repply.....have been out of town for a week and no internet access ;D Well this is the first problem i had with my scorp. The alarm keep on going after i have disconnected and reconnected the battery. To solve the problem i had to close all the doors keep the bonet switch pressed and then lock the car with the key ( i do not have an original remote) after unlocking the car the lights keep on blinking for about 2-3 minutes and finally it was ok. Hope it helps |

Title: Re: Changing Battery Post by nuttyscorp on Oct 29th, 2005, 7:25pm my alarm kept going off, and i did not disconnect the battery,it turned out to be a loose connection on the boot/alarm, the display on the dash was indicating that the boot was open too, so i would tend to agree with the posts about the bonnet by paul b and octavian_p.
