I now have no LCD screen. It was coming and going but now nothing, it still lights up but doesnt show anything. Is this the end? Do I need to source a new Radio? I have cleaned the connectors. Any suggestions as it most just be a connection!!! Any help would be appreciated.....Cheers

Take the button key out and keep it in a warm place overnight - also use the aircon to dry the car out as best you can!

This must be the 4th or 5th post here and on the mailing list this year - can only be to do with humidity IMO :-/

Mine has gone twice so far this year!

Mine's just gone again, panel has been in house for a couple of days and still no-go so I've bought a cheap 5000.

Tried cleaning the contacts, checking the main connections, etc.

Was working before I left the car standing in the rain for a couple of weeks.

It worked again this morning (cold/frosty day. 3 degrees in Scotland) by the time I got to work it had stopped working. This would suggest cold and damp is best? Weird!! Starting to annoy me and who's to say if you buy a 2nd hand one this want happen.

Yeap mine done that to, and found that pressing the Bass key fixed it! but the next time I started the car it was all mumbo jumbo, I was getting a bit peeved off.

Agghhhh!!! Yes I'm waiting for the replacement (5000) to arrive and now the current 7000 is working again having left the removable panel in the radio in the cold car for a couple of days (haven't used the car this week). Typical. I'll now have to decide whether I try the 5000 and have the code hassle or just have it as a spare. I do like to have the radio and CDs when I'm driving.

some 5000 come with cd changer control ;)
