Title: Re: auto gearbox help? Post by Snoopy on Nov 22nd, 2005, 5:31pm Could be sopmething as simple as the Brake Bands in the gear box need adjusting. You do need a special tool for doing this but any Auto gear dealer should be able to do it in a matter of minutes How to is on the main site. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/autotrans/BrakeBandsAdj.pdf ther was a thread earlier on this year ablout this very subject do a search for it and see what comes up.... The search facilty is under the title bar on the main page. You can alter ALL the parameters See here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=display;num=1121784871;start=3#3 |

Title: Re: auto gearbox help? Post by glevum on Nov 30th, 2005, 7:59pm finally got my problem sorted by a very good reputable back street garage........the problem was never the auto box as diagnosed by ford dealer, it needed a new ignition coil assembly and ht leads at a cost of £200 inc. he said the auto box was sweet and has saved me £1200. will never trust main ford dealer again and will be asking for my diagnoses charge to be refunded........ many thanks for all your help with this great forum and website |

Title: Re: auto gearbox help? Post by stafford on Dec 10th, 2005, 8:30pm thats disgraceful from a main dealer..thats why ppl pay their inflated prices in order to recieve specialist expert care..i would issue a county court summons..ring trading standards and ring your local rag.. the summons will cost small fee to issue but ford HAVE to respond or you automatically win so they ll settle out of court as the PR will slaughter them..good luck |

Title: Re: auto gearbox help? Post by glevum on Dec 20th, 2005, 10:05pm thanks all, got in touch with trading standards and with ford dealer who instantly refunded me £40 (for pulling a dipstick and wiping it ), immediatly after mentioning their name. glad to get a better service from a self employed good mechanic who relies on good word of mouth |

Title: Re: auto gearbox help? Post by stafford on Dec 21st, 2005, 12:12am good news ...its a shame about some of these employees even if it was a genuine mistake fromm them its still unacceptable from a main dealer. glad you got your money back and rightly so..thank god for this forum so we can get expert opinions then get the work done forearmed. |
