Title: Climate Control on strike
Post by proberjohn on Nov 30th, 2005, 5:33pm
A couple of days ago it was very cold.  On the way into town the CC just stopped working!!  It had been fine, - on Auto as usual, fan cut in when the engine warmed, heat coming out, air cond on.  Started to feel cold and noticed that air con light was off, the fan was not running  and both temp settings showing -- .  Tried fan on Manual and temp settings showed the previous 23 and the fan ran.  Every time I put the fan back to auto it stopped and the temp sets showed -- again.  It only went back onto auto after I turned the air con off. Later on it would stay in Auto with the air con on and was back to normal.

Anyone any ideas??  Is there an iceing over-ride or similar that cuts the fans?

Regards

Hi Craig

No, it's working fine now so am leaving it alone.  It looked to be a deliberate (programmed) shut-down for some reason :-/

hi john

does sound like the programming went a bit out. i fixed a car down in harewood a couple of years ago. same sort of thing. it switched off when you turned the dial to auto. a quick reset soon sorted that!

Thanks Andrew

If it happens again I'll try a CC reset.
