hi there

you'll need to get it checked asap. :(

check the level when warm and give the MAF a clean.

hi there

not sure 2nd hand, but new they're about £100+VAT :o
i've only seen one faulty one. get them to check it. it should be about .4 (cleaned) at idle.

the faulty one (i've still got it in my shed) read 10 at idle!!! :o

btw, the 24valve one is different to the 16valve one. :)

well, i hope for your sake it is a dirty maf, but i suspect the box, you really are playing hit and miss at a scrappy for a box, unless you can actually drive it, better looking at ebay. if not better of pricing up your own for a rebuild at an autbox specialist, or for less, just repair whats wrong.

I'm all in favour of 2nd hand parts, after all a recon box is probably about half the value of the car (mine anyway)
Is it really worth putting a new box on it? will you have it another 100,000 miles?
I'd take the risk and go for an old one

nice one boys its in my watched items now..lets see what the dtc codes say in the morning after a scan..just a thought but would low oil only bring this od light on as a sort of protection??? and how much damage does running on low gear oil do???

good morning to you all... right had the cars brains picked this morning and the following dtc's showed up

Po 734.....gear 4 incorrect ratio
p1761 ..... shift soleinoid c performance
U1451 scp j18150 invalid or missing?????

cleaned the maf with carb cleaner and rehoused...then the mechanic notice that the pipe for the EGR control something was just hanging off!!!! He reconnects this and itake the car for a 10 mile run ..engage OD, 1st,2nd etc  ..the car seemed soooo much smoother ..no revs racing from 2000-3500 in a second...NO OD light flashing anymore .. hes convinced this is the problem sorted..we checked the gearbox oil and it was spot on for clour and level... Is this the problem over lads???

I dont wanna celebrate anything yet so Ive put those codes up for the boys to look at.

Ps Im def getting one ofthese obd 2 leads in the new year so if your ever in Bournemouth then message me...
