Hi can anyone help ?? i have a 2.9 12-valve it just lost its spark i have changed the coil / i have changed the ignition modual on the dizzy / i have had the e.c.u checked no probs there the eye in the dizzy lookes good the fuse boxes are ok --------------what is left its cost me £130 and it still wont spark' short ov sticking clipper lighters in instead of plugs i dont know what to check next ??

Suggest you look to seeing if there is 12v at the coil and is the dizzy turning with the engine being cranked... Stranger things have happened.. if al that is ok then I would be looking at the ignition relay

The things in order I would look to if there is not 12v at the coil are Relay 11, Fuse 31 and relay 19 and check the main fuse links in the aux fuse box there are three of them. othewise it could be the ignition switch itself worth looking to.

Its a process of illimination when you get this sort of problem you should check through systematicaly and mark them off when there are ok.

Hi snoopy the dizzy is turning i have 12v at the coil i have put 3 coils / a new ignition modual /the alarm side has been checked the e.c.u has been sent off and checked i dont seem to be getting a fire signal to the other side of the coil there is no crank sensor its in the dizzy and looks fine ' all fueses and relays are ok ???? help please iam out of ideas

The plug that goes into the dizzy, check that & the wires that go into it.
Sometimes the wires break inside or the connecter is faulty.

Start from the dizzy & work through the system to find the fault.

Cheers Dave ive just about changed everything on that side i will check wiring next the only thing that makes me think its not a wiring fault is the way it went it didnt miss-fire mess about or anything it just turned off and made no attempet to fire or go again ??

Hi Dave its Doing my head in iam just about to replace the whole distributor i will let you know if it works -- BRING BACK THE POINTS & CONDENSOR -

Dave your 24V is completly different set up ignition wise to a 12V.

Well if you replace the dizzy, it is another to cross off your list but if the plug or wiring is at fault it will be the same. I thought you had already replaced the dizzy module?

i have i also had the ecu checked and changed the coil the only thing left i think is the pickup eye in the dizzy i cannot find just the eye i have to replace the whole thing there is also i think is a amp inside the dizzy

thats it i give up i have put another dizzy in it and it still wont go its now in a gararge and i feel better allready its been in now for a week still wont go but at least i can get some sleep now and if it ever dose come out iam going to burn it
