Title: Telemute Leads
Post by josswallace on Dec 13th, 2005, 10:31am
Guys

I am sorry for this re-post but am getting some very confusing and conflicting replies from my various queries so I would like to ask 3 questions again. I have an Ultima 12 Valve 1995 with Ford 2007 radio/cd (6* in the boot), a Nokia 6230i and a Nokia CK-7W kar kit with cradle, and want to use it via the cradle i.e. non bluetooth mode.

Firstly, I have been asked by two telemute suppliers if I have the 2007 with the separate amp or the model with the amp in the rdaio. I find it a bit difficult to imagine Ford would have produced two different set ups with the same product code. Can any one throw any light on this.

Secondly, if it is the separately amplified version, where is the amp and can a car kit mute the radio even if it's not possible to play through the radio's speakers.

Does any one know if its possible to have a system using the car's speakers on a separately amplified system.

The amp is under where the passenger air bag is & is a nightmare to get to.
If you mean fit another radio & bypass the amp, yes you can but getting to the amp to bypass it is as I said before a nightmare but can be done.
Not sure about muting a 2007 so can't comment :-X
Ford did make 2 types of 2007's but they both do not have a built in amp. One has RDS & looks totaly different to the other which is the one you have.
2006 is the version with the amp.
