Weak fuel pump? Is it turning over nice and quickly? Do the dials flick? Are the earth points near the battery clean and tight? Do you use any throttle when trying to start it?

Sorry, just typed as my mind worked there, hence the garble  ;D

Check the throttle position sensor.
Fuel filter might need changed.
Have you had an OBD scan done?

Hi there the throttle postion sensor is next by the throttle body, its' that thing connected with the big air hose comming from the resonator and air filter.

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/24vcomponents.htm

it's G - TP sensor

The fuel filter is under the car next to the fuel tank
