Title: 24v stalls in N. Nowadays it wont start, PATS 1-6
Post by manet on Dec 25th, 2005, 5:30pm
Hello, peeps!

Super website, made me buy a Scorpio Cosworth even.
Thou it has some gremlin.

Starts fine when cold, idles nicely, however it dies/stalls , when it's warming up (the temp needle starts to rise). However it's possible to keep it running by pressing the accelerator.

So tomorrow is the big operation day. I will check for vaccumleaks, fuelcrash-relay, clean the lmm and ISCV.
Should mention the fuseboxcovers is in place.

I found on the site that the TPS voltage should be 0,4-0,8volt.
Does anyone have the voltage for the MAP-sensor at Idle or engine off/ignition on?
Also does anyone have the resistansfigures for the enginetempsensor at 20degrees and at say 70-80degrees?

And of course any other tips on what to check/investigate?

Kind regards Andreas

Tally ho, chaps!

So today I installed the battery, after giving it full charge.
However now it doesnt even start when cold. The PATS give me the dreaded 1 6 code.....

I've checked the fuses, relays and fuelcut in the trunk.
Any tips on what to do with the PATS 1 6?
O is there something you are supposed to do, after changing the battery?

Andreas

have you connected the battery up properly?
theres a small lead on the -ve terminal that often gets overlooked.
Disconnect it for a couple of minutes to allow all the modules to reset properly and try again.

Try the engine running with the aircon turned off, in case the compressor is sticking and stalling the engine

Will give it another go tomorrow, when it's daylight.
I had an extra look at the batterycables though. At -ve there was one big cable and 2 smaller and at +ve there was only 2 big cables.

New question!

Is the PATS also available thru the OBD?
In that case I will order a OBD2 kit and hopefully find out whats wrong with the darling.
