Finally got my exhaust manifold unbolted today (what a job!) but still have the sensor that screws into it in place. I think its the HO² sensor isn't it? :-/

Anyway, I can't get that sensor unscrewed very easy, especially when trying to hold the manifold in my hand too! And unscrewing it looks like it will just twist the wires up.

How do I disconnect it? Does that wiring pull off the sensor somehow? ???

if you follow the cable from the sensor,think it's a white one,goes to a connector under the airbox for the left hand side one and about the same position for the right hand one opposite side,there's about two feet of cable atached to the sensor,cleaned all mine couple of weeks ago so know what a pain they are!

It is a white cable and its the drivers side I'm doing. Didn't think to trace the wire back the other way - I just assumed it would detach from the sensor :-[

Hmm... it may well be. You never know ::)

Got the sensor off today. Got a bit annoyed though cos I didn't have a spanner the right size (22mm) and had to go and buy one to do the job. >:(
Still its done now.

Just wondering... were you in Ashford today by any chance? Saw a nice one (from a distance) today and it looked like yours.

i mis-read your post. :-[ i didn't think you wanted the sensor off. i've got the sensor socket.....http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lambda-sensors.php

it's there if you every need it.....

Blimey! That socket is just the ticket!

And its a fair enough price too. In fact, I just spent more than that on a 22mm spanner :-[

Mind you, the spanner is ok with the manifold off but I'm not sure I'd get it in there when mounted to the engine. :-/
I might just order one of those sockets for future use.
