Title: jig saw puzzle
Post by 24v96wagon on Jan 19th, 2006, 8:23pm
I just managed to turn the front end bumper of my beautiful Ghia into a jig saw puzzle. (Grrrrrrrrrrrrr). I do hope I collected all bits and pieces but I'm not too sure about this.
I have three questions:
1. What kind of glue should I use to get all these pieces together again?
2. Suppose I miss some pieces, is there any fibre or any other material to fill the gaps?
3. The light cleaner nozzle is damaged too. What kind of glue do I need here?

For the best results I would have the bumper plastic welded back together and then spray over the damaged area. It costs more than glueing the whole thing back together but you get better results. If you do go for the glue option you could try bostick (if its still available - been a few years :)) it is/or was great stuff as locktite gets very very brittle once its got wet. Hope this is of some help - Craig.

P.S isopon P38 or 40 for filling the gaps and use a bit of mesh/chicken wire to give it a bit of strength for the filler to cure to (if you go down that route ;)).

Halfords sell a bumper repair kit - it comes with a glue that is very good!

I bought the Halfords kit. The brand is Motip. It comes with a primer, glue and activator. It works perfectly. Thanks for the tip.
