Title: REMOTE LOCKING BATTERY KILL?
Post by edjog on Jan 23rd, 2006, 10:29pm
When i replaced the batteries in the remote with new and re-programmed it all worked well for a couple of days and then nothing.Cleaned remote and guess what?Still dead.I then suspected the batteries and so replaced with more new ones. The remote worked again for three or four times and then packed up again. Are these remotes prone to killing batteries or has anyone had this kind of problem before?.

Have not seen that aspect mentioned. The vital thing  to make sure of is that the little 'tag' that stands up by the batteries is making contact with the printed circuit when you put the item back together. This can be a bit of trial and error. Unless a test shows that the batteries are in fact flat I would suspect the 'connection' is the problem.

Maybe the contacts are shorting one of the battery, so the voltage drops to half and the remote stops working.
