hi, i cant get my bootlid to stay closed, it opened alright, and when i press the key, it makes whirring noises, the metal bit oft the lock i can see moves up and down, but doesnt catch. any ideas?

Is it terminal, or can i strip it down and repair it?

can you give us some more info.

when you close it, does it then whir (unlock)?

no, it doesnt seem to be catxhing, when i try to close it, but pressing unlock on the keyfob will give me a whirr

can you flick the catch?

when mine started playing up, it was the micro switch. kept unlocking.

yours sounds jammed, maybe. :-/

i can move it but i expected it to stay closed when i did, this isnt happenning, its just opening again. is it worth my while stripping it down? or will i need to replace it?

just been back out to the car, i had soaked the lock with wd40 before i came online, seems to have done the trick..... need to investigate further when i have time  >:(
