When I try to start car, the key unlocking the antitheft system will not turn.
What to do?

Hi there,

Sounds like the ingnition lock needs rebuilt. See here for the details... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm. This is for the doorlock but the principle is the same for the ignition.

Got a spare key to try?
Try wiggling it about, both the key and the steering wheel to reduce the steering lock pressure on it.
it really helps if you can get it to position one to remove the ignition barrel

The wiggling did this time the trick.
But the next time? Would it be advisable to use some thin oil (WM 40) or will this hurt some electrical functions?

Shouldn't hurt any connections but probably won't do any good either. While it is working - change/rebuild the barrel!

As Highlander says it makes the job an awful lot easier if you can take the ignition barrel out for repair but turning it to position 1 - something that you can't do if it is stuck!
