Title: air distrubution in cabin
Post by sterio on Feb 25th, 2006, 8:06pm
My air distrubution in the cabin is always blowing air in the middle range. When I turn the switch to select windows (up) or floor(down) nothing happens.

Can that be fixed  or is the electric motor that turns the vale broken with a big job to do?

Thanks
Dave

Hello

Regardless of the up/down selection air will always come from the center vents. Put the blower on max and use the up/down and see if air is blown at the windshield and/or at the feet. Also do a reset to the climate control http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm

You should try a reset (or 2) to see if that does anything.

And as O/P says, the air will always be coming from the face vents. Closing them off should take more air to the screen or feet or what ever.

I have not done a reset yet.

However the fan worked before!
Now it doesent change anything when turning the knob.
I can not change the direction of the blower!
So its not a fault caused by me.

Another thing!
My LCD display that shows temperature is not working that good, so I dont think I can do the reset and fault finding. I can only read it partly somtimes.
Is that something that can be easily fixed to?

Thanks

Sometimes the AC control needs a bit of resetting. Try it first and see if you get an error code or something.

OK, the display panel may have developed a fault then and could need replacing.

Try the resets first though if possible.
