On my estate, if the car is unlocked I can't just push the button to open the tailgate I have to use either the remote or the key itself.
It's like as if the barrel is jammed, is there a common problem that causes this and is it easy to cure ??

Don't know if it's common, but.. WD40 could perhaps cure it?

Yep happens a lot, WD40 and perseverence :)
