can the manual transmission be removed on its own ie without removing the engen. ???
i have a dohc 2.3 16v scopio ultima

they is a boalt on the left hans side of the gear box at the top that i cant get to as it seems to be consealed by the motor

if its the same as a 2.3 auto.......you will need to remove the starter motor, as its bolted through the bell housing

had a quick look at my car,not sure if seening the right bolt.but have you tried tilting box down a bit more to get into bolt.r u talking about the engine concealing it or the starter motor.ru working from under or above.

i am working from under and above and the starter moto is off

hi can see the bolt on the right hand side looking into engine bay,impossible to see l/h side,for pipes etc.should be able to tilt eng/box to get bettr access,just watch your fuel cut of loom which comes out the rear head incase it gets damaged with being jammed on bulk head.
