Not a problem as such but ive just aquired and installed one of these and whatever cd button is pressed (1-6 on the removable panel) illuminates red?

The other three identical units i have in various cars dont do this..

thoughts? ideas? funny jokes?

sorry dont know cd still not working >:( , think i hve read some where though that they are ment to go red .

Mine do that Highlander. I've just checked. With NO sidelights on the figures alone come up red. With side lights on the buttons are all illuminated AND the 'selected' number stands out in red so as to indicate which particular button has been chosen.

wish mine did >:( , got the cd changer in house now giving it a warm up lol never know it may help ,( well wish full thinking any way ) ;D

FYI the early and original 7000 radio had buttons which illuminated White and red when selected the later ones only had the white function.
I had to get a replacement radio key pad for my 7000 and it did not have the red function but an earlier one which I have now purchased does .
Mabe that helps explain it.
