Title: Battery fixing
Post by Butterfingers on Mar 26th, 2006, 5:45pm
There is a rod in the shape of a "J" that is bolted to the member that runs across the battery.

Does anyone know if this "J" rod is then bolted or secured at the bottom end. Mine isn't. Rod is item number 7 in the battery diagram on this website.

Thanks.

The curved end of the rod should hook into a hole on the battery tray, the threaded part passing through a hole in the battery clamp bar (which itself bolts to another bar hooked into the battery tray at the back).

Hi my scorp didn't have the battery fixing, just a rusted "J". I have fabricated it from a piece of metal...nice and clean now. There is no bolting there, just holes in the battery tray, so you could "hang" something there and fix a screw on the top of the battery
