Title: window wont close
Post by bootiful-scorpios on Apr 2nd, 2006, 1:08pm
now came home from work had window half open and now it wont close,

read in hand book it could be a trip switch in the drivers door is there any way of getting to it with out taking whole pannel off ?

or could any one think if its any thing else please tell me as it look like rain soon  :-[   its on the drivers side and also the back one on that side wont open but the other side will . im now thinking it could be a jamed motor as the window havent been playing up at all,  how do the top part of the pannel come off ?

try changing the window switch for another one that is working, (passenger side) may just be a bad contact.

No there is a motor in each door. There is reference here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/handbook134.gif to the 'trip' switch relay but if my memory serves me correctly there have been posts on this in the past and it could not be located !.

thanks for all your help simmo . inside the door pannel there was a big black box with loads of connections in it , just wiggled it about and now its working again i i presume  it was a lose connection , ( window is nicely closed ) :D

Sorry. As I said I'm sure there have been posts saying its not there!. The other area to try is the connector from the door pillar to the door itself as that of course carries all the wiring and there could be a break or a 'dodgy'connection. As for cleaning, in the absence of switch cleaner WD 40 seems to solve most problems. I knew it was there somewhere- have a read of this http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Problems;action=display;num=1129042078;start=5#5.
