Title: temp sensor
Post by gary1 on Apr 2nd, 2006, 1:39pm
Hi, could any body tell me where the temp sensor is on the engine cos my temp gauge keeps going up and down.I have run the car for about half an hour and the water seems to be getting pumped around the engine and the fans come on and i have heat inside the car but the gauge keeps droping into the blue.

The gauge runs off a single connection at the top of the engine near where the top hose goes in IIRC. The connection pushes onto a sort of spade connection. Mine was damaged and the gauge kept going up and down as yours did. I paid £8 for a new one from the motor factors but they can be had on eBay for about £2!  :)

Then ignore what I said, I saw "cos" in your post and thought you were referring to the 24v - that will teach me to skim  ;D

i Checked the connection under the throttle housing by the top hose and the cable sleeving had all broken away from the wire. I have replaced the plug and lead and i seems to have fix the problem for now but will not know untill i have taken it for a long drive. Thanks for your responses.
Gary ;D
