Title: Trip Computer Post by DJWerkz on Apr 4th, 2006, 12:51pm Here's a little niggle! I notice that my digital read out on the trip computer will only read in Kilometers, I have pressed a whole manner of sequences of the buttons on the module (MODE/S/R). Nothing changes it to mph. Is this correct or do I have a fault? |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by Mummra on Apr 4th, 2006, 1:47pm I had a similar problem with mine, it was easy to fix. Remove the switch and open it carefully as there are about 6 springs inside. The small circuit board just pushes onto pins and lifts off easily. when you turn the circuit board over you will probably find dry joints on the switches. Re-solder the joints, re-assemble and all should be fine. |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by mr._floppy on Apr 4th, 2006, 3:36pm Before you start dismantling it, I know you've tried various permutations of button pressing but try pressing the R and S buttons simultaneously for a few seconds ? |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by DJWerkz on Apr 4th, 2006, 10:33pm Already tried the R & S button's together for a few seconds, nothing. I have some level of skill with electronics so taking it apart and re-soldering is no problem at all,...as long as it comes apart easily and does not break and fall apart, which can often be the case :-/ |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by Paul B on Apr 5th, 2006, 6:27am I'd try cleaning the contacts first as Russ suggested. When it works properly, it should be one press of the 'S' to change to mph rather than tricky combinations of presses. |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by Simmo on Apr 5th, 2006, 6:43am DJW. The advice from Mummra is sound. As he says there are a number of springs which will fall out. Not a problem unless you drop/lose one!!. I find it best to get a clean towel or similar so that as they come out they don't roll about and you can see them easily. Learnt that the hard way!!. |

Title: Re: Trip Computer Post by DJWerkz on Apr 5th, 2006, 10:05pm Niggle resolved! Got the soldering iron out, dismantled switch, re-soldered all solder points and it now works. ;),...nice one... |
