Title: Oops, i probably shouldn't of broken that...

I have successfully managed to snap the head off the banjo bolt (bolt with the hole through the middle of it) which connects the Inlet manifold via a vacume hose to the top of the diesel injection pump.

The vacume hose has something to do with  'Smoke Pressure Limiter' and somehow effects the fueling when the turbo is on boost, but i'm not too sure whether it is used to turn the fueling up or down when the turbo is on boost?

Any enlightenment at all would be much appreciated,

Matt

It increases fuelling to match the rise in manifold pressure.  The car is still useable but you'll not benefit from the turbo until it's fixed.

Goods news is that the same diesel pump (I think) was used on some of the bubble shaped diesel Rover 200/400 (except the few that were intercooled which were completely electronic).  Also I think the diesel 825 has the same engine/pump - but these are less common.
