Title: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 6th, 2006, 1:16pm To open the doors I have to put in the key and hols it in the open position to open the door. once I remove the key the door locks keep cycling until i shut the door at which time the doors lock themselves. This all happened from the battery going flat and being recharged Also no interior lights or Radio and fuses OK Scorpio 2.9 24v 1995 |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by Snoopy on Apr 6th, 2006, 4:48pm Look at fuse 36 it might just be the one if not the wiring diagrams are http://www.carsoft.ru/avtorepair/sierra_el.html otherwise it could be a faulty door module or even a wire that is shorting out in the door loom. but with the doors locking I would be looking at the door module if it was mine but others might have more idea. |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by Simmo on Apr 6th, 2006, 5:26pm Go to this page and scroll down to 'Electrical Concerns'. I'd look at the battery saver relay Relay 16. If you charged up the battery wwhilst still on the car this MAY have affected it. Good luck. |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 8th, 2006, 8:05am Battery was charged on the car. Not by me but the previous owner. I have just bought the car knowing of the fault. Thought it would be simple repair. Relay 16 OK but no voltage to it. Now what |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by Simmo on Apr 8th, 2006, 8:24am Are you sure that fuse 36 is ok?. Fuse 8 is for the radio but fuse 24 covers the interior lights and 'audio'.Check those. |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 8th, 2006, 8:54am fuse 36 changed it 3 times just to be sure. can not understand why no voltage at relay 16. really could do with proper wiring diagram. being electrically trained do not want to call in auto trician but looking so much that way thanks for all your replies by the way |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 8th, 2006, 9:01am Yes but no digrams of fuse box wiring . just refers to relay 16. it is just individual diagrams but the main loom diagram not there. Pity Haynes never did a manual |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 11th, 2006, 2:30pm Still having problems with doors locking by themselves. Have changed fuses and relay 16. Have now chenged the door central locking control box. What else can make the doors behave like this???? |
||
Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by Snoopy on Apr 12th, 2006, 6:58am The central locking module obviously detects that one of the FRONT doors are open and therfor will not lock.. Check the multin pin plugs that go into the front door pillars for connectivity and that there are NO shorts on them. I had problems after I had disconnected one of the plugs some time back and it was all down to dirty pin connections. |

Title: Re: Doors keep locking on thier own Post by g.wass on Apr 13th, 2006, 4:45pm Finally cured it. Changed the Central Control Module and now fine. Thanks to all for help and advice |
