i would have my doubts, just like the "resistors" that are being sold on ebay,i would be very cautious, but they do give a refund apparently.....

That's what I thought. If it was that easy, why didn't Ford do it in the first place?

also a BIG claim about the BHP... :o :o
did have a quick look through his feedback as well,i still reckon it's an "up market" resistor, the topic has been mentioned on here before, and the general conclusion was just what you have stated "if only it were that easy" :-/

Erm, you could make one yourself for about £2.  It's a variable resistor which you attach in series with the coolant temperature sensor.  Basically as you increase the resistance the ECU sees the engine temperature fall and enriches the mixture, etc.  However I wouldn't recommend doing this - some of the ECU functions are inhibited until it detects the engine has reached operating temperature (such as EGR operation, closed loop running from lambda, etc.).  Also, whilst it may not affect your warranty (though I don't see how it couldn't), it could cause increased engine wear, fuel consumption and emissions.  You're effectively driving 'with the choke on'...

Recently tried the 'Fuel Cat' in my 2.3 Scorpio. There was a deffinate increase in power, but unfortunately it was followed by a decrease in MPG. So it's just like using super-unleaded.
