Post by Richard71 on Apr 15th, 2006, 7:44pm
Please ..help
dose any one have the same problem??

I have to high hc

then this hapend in one weeks time

oil smoke coming from the muffler.just a little but in one week it was to much.

so i have change the valve seals.old ones where realy bad.

I know that you dont have to lift the cylinder head but the compression wasent so good so i lift it and changed some valves and cheked the oteher ones. everything looks ok.

But still its comming oil smocke from the muffel. ??

I checked so the valve seals still are in possision and the are.

compression are ok. werry near 14kg on all cylinders

when i start the engine its not comming any smoke directly. but after just a little while its comming. When engine is worm its not coming smoke but when you step the gas a couple of times its coming a lot of smoke.
not so much blue its more grey, dont smell oil or glykol.
More like somey burned smell or some thing like that.

Could it be the valve guides or the oil rings ?
I have teste so the valves arent leaking.

Soory for my bad english

please help.....

Do a compression test on each cylinder.  Then add a tablespoon of oil into the spark plug hole and repeat.  If it temporarily improves things then it's down to worn bores/rings, if it makes no difference then it's valve or head gasket related.

Have you also checked the engine breather system?  Could be as simple as a blocked hose or oil separator allowing oil to be drawn into the intake.

Did you say that you had changed the valve stem oil seals (wasn't quite clear). I've never ripped one of these engines open before but from previous experience with older cars it was always these that caused oil to be burned & cause black smoke. But then again with these modern engines it's hard to tell if it's mechanical or electrical.
Sorry if this doesn't help.
