Hi all
Help needed when driveing car to work yesterday car started to make a kind of druming sound a bit like when you are comeing up to a main roundabout with the raised cevrons.
Have had the car up on axel stands to see if there was any movement or roughness of wheel bearings all seems fine.
Noise seems to be comeing from n/s front as i can feel it at steering wheel.
Any ides fixes welcome.

Could that be the dreaded " cattle grid effect" that people speak of ?

hi there

might be one of the bushes at the front end or the droplinks.

could also be the start of wrapped brake discs. :-/

Had similar symptom on Granada Auto a few years ago - noticeable when slowing down where autobox was trying to change down from 3rd to 2nd (forgotten the technical name for the thing that does this). Isolated it by finding that if I popped it into 2nd manually as slowing down/stopping there was no judder & then popping it back into Drive when ready to increase speed. Drove it like that for ages.

thanx for quick replys mr f scorp man & john :)

Know its not cattle grid as i had that on my 2.0.

all bushes seem ok one of the first things i checked.

its not just there on slowing down john its all the time and sound is in time with speed of car.

update only thing i can find is the pad that is stuck to the metal side of the brake pad partly missing and sping retaining clip seems a bit bent and weak so new set of pads in morning and spring off my 2.0 and see if it cures the problem.

but if any one knows any better let me know.

A cracked brake disc :o

As if there isn't enough things to check for :-*
