does the car get used much? maybe the petrol has gone off. :-/ are the sparkplugs gapped correctly?

what's the milage of the car?

Mileage 110k, dont drive it much during the winter months, but every weekend since the spring came in.  Filled it up a month ago and all fine til last weekend. Upon acceleration feel a hesitation in the engine on overtaking, and on slight inclines whilst in cruise control.  Changed the spark plugs, felt slight improvement but still there.  Will check the gap tomorrow (do you know what the gap should be?) fitted the plugs from the box and seemed fine to me. thanks and regards sean

hi there

gap is 1.0mm on the 2.3. needs to be spot on and make sure they're in nice and tight as they have a habit of working loose!

check all the wiring to the coilpacks.
give the MAF a clean. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cleanmaf

maybe the lambda is shot. :-/ where abouts are you? someone nearby might have an OBD-2 lead for a scan, unless you can make the harewood house meeting.

also check the operation of the a/c. with the milage you do, it should be runnning at all times to prevent it from siezing (needs to run for 1/2 hour every month, at least).
