hi there, does anybody know the correct tyre pressures front & back on a scorp 2.3 ultima saloon.

my avon 225 - 50 - 16 tyres on the rear seem to wear very quickly for some reason? :-(

most saloon drivers are running 31psi all round.
i find 31 front and 29 rear are best on my estate.

btw, avon do have a slightly higher wear rate, imo.

tyre wear is worse on the centre tread, i have been putting 29 in the front and 26 in the rear for the last 4 years!!

centre wear normally means over inflation. but at 26psi i would not expect that. i would invest in a new pressure guage garage forecourt ones are not to be trusted at all. i have known them to be as much as 15 psi out either way

I tend to keep my 225/50/16's at 34psi both front & back. They're hard , but seem to last at least 25000-30000 miles. Also when the fronts get low on the outers & the rears get low on the middles, I put the fronts on the back & vice versa.

like Fordcos , I noticed centre tread tyre wear on the rear tyres at 31psi all round. I am in the car alone usually. Now iIrun on 31 front and 27 rear - no problem !
