I have a scorpio ultima and there is a bad resonance/vibration  on the engine at exactly 2000 rpm .  the car doesnt have to be moving...it is very bad the gearstick vibrates..under the bonnet the heat shield over the exhaust vibrates...I have removed that...it's the engine i suppose..what could cause that ???? any ideas would be appreciated

Plug lead breaking down or wrongly connected?

Plug leads don't last forever.

If a garage replaced your Head Gasket, then I would take it back to them, as presumably the fault wasn't there before the Head gasket went ?

Ask them to check their work over for you in the hope that they will discover the fault.

Good luck with it.  :)
