Hi, not sure if this is in the right place but im looking to sell my Scorpio Ultima for parts etc as the head gasket has gone but I dont want to sell a bit here & a bit there. Can you guys give me a clue as to how much I could expect to sell the car whole for parts or to someone who has more knowledge in order to repair the car.
The car is in general good condition with everything else working perfectly on it.
Its done 150,000 miles on a 2.3 engine & had a new fuel manifold & exhaust system about 6 months ago.
Any ideas?

its a P plate, 1997. Good condition for the year as well, just a shame about the gasket!

If it is just the head gasket that has gone then why not renew it?

Really its worth a lot more if you break it :-/ although it takes time and space.

Last three Ultimas i have bought were all runners but uneconomical to repair and the most ive paid was £150 :-/

ebay might be your best bet for a good price

£150?!! Phew, was hoping for a bit more than that!
Not going to bother to repair it as ive had a quote from the mechanic for about £500, already spent over £500 on the car last Nov & to be honest ive had enough.

I have a 2.3 engine on ebay at the mo, would like a run to Wales with it ;)

LOL! well if you're willing to fit at as well for about £50 for everything then you're on!
No, to be honest im becoming very disappointed with the Scorpio i bought, just want to get ride of it!

I got a 1998 facelift for £170!! That had a dodgy head gasket but I am already £92.00 to the better on the auction for the rear lights!

picked up a 98 estate with blow head for £650, new gasket - £75, not a very hard job to do if you follow the pdf documents on this site (like me ;D)
