Hi all
my air con was playing up so have replaced the control panel. Before this the air con pump was running constant wether it was on or off at the control. After fitting new control found the relay to be u/s unless it was pushed whilst in the relay box.Have now got a new one but again it will not work unless the relay is pushed forward??????

Any ideas??

Loose leads in the box ??? thats the only cause I would have thought if its a new relay ( Try cleaning the contacts with some contact cleaner they may be oxidised)

Do you have the correct relay fitted? Take it out and make sure that one of the large contacts is marked 87a. If it just says 87 then it's the wrong one!

Also check the little brass link B9. It should be bridging positions 0 and 1.

Incidentally, if you have SATC then the air-con will run (even if light is off) when the air outlet is set to windscreen...
