Title: Headlight levelling dial Post by Penguin on May 22nd, 2006, 11:57am Hi all Should a 1998 24v Ultima Estate have a headlight levelling dial? Mine does appear to have one even though I thought the estates had self levelling rear suspension. Cheers Penguin |

now this is getting really confussing! ??? we've just had a long discussion about the estate shockers. i say all estates should have self levelling suspension in one form or another. you think yours doesn't. sounds daft, have you tried it? couple of (larger) people in the estate bit, drive 1/2 mile and the back should be level again. i wonder if we'll ever get to the bottom of this one! ;D |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by TaperOne on May 23rd, 2006, 9:39am Hi, Dont need to load it up (although I did do this when I first got it). I just looked at the rear shocks. Take my word for it, they are not self levelling, just standard. The other curious thing is that I can't even find any sort of connection to allow self laveling shocks. This I find strange. But you have to consider that mine is a late facelift so was probably put together out of the remaining parts bin. I can just picture it now. Ford production line, Friday afternoon. "'ere Lenny, we aint got none of them self level shock things left!" "What about some ordinary ones Mick?" "Yeh, got loads of them" "Sod it, put them in then. Just to keep it sweet I will put in some adjustable headlights". "Salesmen wont give a toss because they are not selling anyway". "Gets rid of that redundant stock as well and keeps the foreman happy". ;D Heh Heh, the joys of British manufacturing. Cheers Pete H |

"was über einige gewöhnliche Mick?" "Yeh, Lasten von ihnen erhalten" "Grasscholle setzte es, sie innen dann. Es gerade halten Bonbon, den ich in einige justierbare Scheinwerfer "einsetze. "Verkäufer geben nicht werfen, weil sie nicht irgendwie verkaufen". "wird außerdem diesen überflüssigen Vorrat los und hält den Vorarbeiter glücklich ;D ;D ;D Cheers Pete H |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by Octavian_P on May 23rd, 2006, 6:46pm Well, well if estates had self leveling suspesion and didn't had a headlight levelling dial then why my saloon, with standard suspension has no dial ::) |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by sector-9 on May 23rd, 2006, 10:52pm My saloon has neither self-levelling suspension or headlight levelling - but mine is bottom of the range... Darren |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by jonnycab on May 24th, 2006, 12:10am As far as I know, saloons never had self leveling suspension. It was only estates that had it.....Can't work out why? Mine has headlight leveling though ;D. Usually only fitted to facelift models I think. Not that I ever use it. |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by Highlander on May 24th, 2006, 7:40am It was an option on saloons, never heard anyone that has it yet though |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by Octavian_P on May 24th, 2006, 11:29am Forgive my ignorance but aren't the headlights self sdjustable ? My scorp saloon it is hi-series, no dial, but i never needed to adjust the height of the lights, regardless of the load in the trunk :) |

Title: Re: Headlight levelling dial Post by Baz on May 24th, 2006, 8:16pm The headlamp levelling was an option that was fitted to the high series models as standard I believe but not the low series models. The exception may have been on some estates with the Nivomat self levelling rear suspension |
