Title: Will not idle when cold....stalls. Ok when hot Post by dxt on May 26th, 2006, 2:53pm I have just bought a P reg 2L 16V Ultima. Apart from a leak from the auto gearbox cooling pipe I also have this idle problem. The engine fires up perfect but if you take your foot off the gas the revs die and she stalls. Can anybody help me. ps. I have cleaned the MAF.!! Cheers dxt |

Ok when hot Post by Dave on May 26th, 2006, 3:32pm Welcome to the site :) Check the spark plugs and leads, make sure they are all clean and tight and the plugs are gapped correctly. Then have a look at the coil packs, there are 2 of them, casing should be free of cracks. |

Title: Re: Will not idle when cold....stalls. Ok when hot Post by Highlander on May 26th, 2006, 4:51pm Try turning the aircon off, a worn/sticking compressor bearing will stall the engine. Try it with the MAF disconnected and see if there is any difference, it might be goosed |

Title: Re: Will not idle when cold....stalls. Ok when hot Post by sector-9 on Jun 3rd, 2006, 3:27pm If it's acting like an old car starting from cold without choke then it could be the coolant temp. sensor. Darren |
